Work Statement:

The project explores the relation between “Science” and “Art”. The “Machine” creates images, colors, light, lines, shapes, emotions and is the vehicle that bridges the gap between “physical” and “emotional world”.

Ideas are “abstract” and when they collide with the “physical material” the spark ignite the “Big Bang”. The “physical thinking” initiates the friction that leads to the clash of the elements; the energy released, visible through perception, creates a new field where the images are visible to us according to a new level of perception.

The scientific and artistic world is directly related to the process of human thinking; formulas, equations, technology, philosophy, ideas, color, shape, light… they all share the same path.

The universe, the atom, the human body are the expressions of materials that are present in the three dimensional world; the scientific laws that regulate the “physic” and the “psyche” are related to the laws of emotions and expressions.

“Science” by definition is classified knowledge of the physical world and “Art” in my opinion is classified knowledge of the emotional world and the relation between them is visible through physical thinking, space, gravity, dimensions… and energy is the result of their friction. We physically perceive the world through the five senses; the senses are the vehicles to the emotion.

My intent with the “Big Bang Machine” is to stimulate the senses to reach the physical and the emotional world of the spectator; the interaction between machine and emotion will trigger the explosion that lead to vision and emotional perception; the mind develops the energy used to propel the machine.

The images produced by the “Big Bang” are related to the geographic location of the “Machine” and the emotional result is possible by the energy released during the full rotation.

Description of Work:

I intend to build “The Big Bang Machine” in a way that rotates 360 degree on its vertical axis and moves up and down in a spiral motion. The Machine will emit sound and will project images and lights.

The four sides of the Machine are the expression of the nucleus explosion and the images projected from each side interact with the space around.
